Paper makes the difference

Hahnemühle paper has always been exclusive – from preserving valuable art treasures, to individuals and creatives looking for the right paper to bring their ideas to life. It started with handmade writing paper, followed by artists’ paper and finally the invention of the FineArt inkjet papers. We still make our paper from high-quality cellulose and pure spring water using old recipes and traditional methods. Our principle has always been ‘quality over quantity’, which is why we think of ourselves more as a manufactory than a factory. We have been creating our products at the same location in Germany for over 430 years – with the highest quality and innovative spirit, drawn from experiences and tradition.

People

All around the world more than 200 people are working for Hahnemühle. We owe our success to the commitment and expertise of our employees, with their team spirit and conviction we have turned Hahnemühle FineArt into a leading manufacturer of the highest quality, artist and specialist papers. We assume responsibility for our production sites in Dassel and Einbeck and provide – not only – our apprentices and young talents multifaceted entry-level career, but also promotional opportunities. Traditionally we can be proud of a high level of employee retention and low fluctuation.

Hahnemühle 'green' papers continue to grow

Hahnemühle has been producing high quality artists' papers from innovative, rapidly renewable fibres since 2008. The Hahnemühle Bamboo paper was and is the pioneer. In addition, there are now papers made from hemp and agave papers for painting and drawing as well as digital FineArt printing. Digital printable hemp paper for books and brochures also comes from Hahnemühle. All these fibres grow quickly, require no pesticides and little water for cultivation.
